NATUROPATH DALLAS

The purity of the air we breathe has a huge impact on our health!

As I tell my clients, we have to look at the priorities of the body and follow that list. We can only live for a few minutes without air, a few days without water and a few weeks without food.

Proper breathing (deep breathing to below your belly button) can help so many health issues…and even better is breathing clean air.

While it’s difficult to control the air we breathe outside (think pollutants, pollen, other allergens…), it turns out that the most toxic air tends to be indoors, where we spend most of our time these days.

It is worth it to do everything you can to keep that air as clean as possible. Sunlight (per this story) is one easy/free way.

Another is to diffuse essential oils at home…both purifying the air and also adding the molecules of powerful plants. Take a look at the Essential Oils 101 Course on this website for more information on how to use essential oils to change your life for the better…so glad I began that path in 2005.

STORY AT-A-GLANCE

  • Research performed at the University of Oregon suggests letting sunlight in through your windows kills bacterial germs living in household dust
  • Compared to the amount found in dark rooms (12 percent), scientists discovered just 6.1 percent of the bacteria in household dust exposed to ultraviolet light remained viable
  • The average American spends about 93 percent of their time indoors, making them susceptible to the potential negative health effects associated with indoor toxins
  • Chemical toxins from flame retardants that leach from electronics and old furniture are known to accumulate in household dust, making it important to wipe down surfaces and vacuum regularly
  • Cleaning supplies and personal care products also contribute to the toxic load associated with indoor spaces
